Gerhard Altenbourg (1926 – 1989) lived in his parents’ house on Brauhausweg in Altenburg for most of his life. Starting in the early 1950s, the artist designed his house and garden according to his ideas and created a unique refuge. The new publication is dedicated for the first time to the horticultural work of the artist and shows the analogies of his garden and his pictorial work.
